ARTIFACTS #2: How all 4 members of Dipset signed my "Diplomatic Immunity" Vinyl
A voice note story by 1000WORD$
Yo, this is 1000WORD$. Welcome to ARTIFACTS.
Well, this particular story is fucking dope as fuck. I'm a huge Dipset fan. And I was able to get all four members of Dipset to sign the vinyl, I was able to get "Diplomatic Immunity" signed by Cam'ron, Juelz, Jim Jones, and Freekey Zekey.
Now, this vinyl was given to me as a gift by a friend of mine; his name's Juan. And you know, me and Juan, we collect a lot of vinyls and collect a lot of toys and wrestling stuff. And we always give each other dope gifts, you know. Whenever I could, I was able to give him a dope gift, but he always looked out for me gave me dope shit. So one of the dope things he gave me was the "Diplomatic Immunity" vinyl and he also said that he know that I can get it signed.
So I really started trying to figure out where these guys are going to be at. So Cam'ron had a fucking Reebok release. So I stood in line, and I wasn't gonna buy the Reeboks. I just wanted to meet Cam and shit, so I stood in line. I was like the eighth person in line and once I get in there, you know, I faked it like I was gonna buy the kicks, like I asked for a size. And while they went to go get it, you know, I walked over and Cam'ron extended his hand and I shook his hand. And Cam is my favorite rapper, you know, since I can remember, you know? So he signed he signed the vinyl and I took a picture with him and I left, cause I wasn't gonna buy the sneakers.
Fast forward, a Dipset reunion concert happens and it's at Gramercy Theatre on 34th Street. And I snuck into that shit. I remember standing next to the parking lot and seeing Black The Don. He comes out and he just walks in Gramercy Theatre and shit and I walk in right behind him with his entourage and they let all of us go. And we cut through a whole bunch of shit and then we end up in the dressing room. And fucking Jim Jones is there, Freekey Zekey's there, Juelz Santana's there, and I was like, "Yo this is fucking crazy." So Casanova was in there and I don't wanna say homie name, but he a fucking rat, you know, he was in there and shit. This was around when he was just coming out and shit, so he was in the building. He's a rat, you know what I mean, I'll just say it like that. I'm not gonna say his name, but you know, everybody know him as a rat now.
So, you know, I proceeded to get it signed by Jim Jones, and Jim Jones looked like he was like upset or something because I'm pretty sure like 50 people was blowing up his phone to see if they could get into concert. You know, he signed it. Then fucking Freekey Zekey signed huge on it, like he just signed "Freekey Zekey" and it went all over fucking – he wrote over Juelz Santana's face. So when it got to Juelz Santana, he was like, "Damn Freekey, you had to write all over my face and shit, man. I should buff your shit." So then, you know, he signed it. And the next thing you know, once Juelz signed it and I already had all those three signatures, it felt like when Uncle Fester in the Addams Family, like when he pops open the bottle and he don't know that the room spin and it was like a room full of gold and shit. I felt like that. Like the room... just went to another room, and it was just prestigious cause, you know, I was able to fucking complete the task of getting the gift of the "Diplomatic Immunity" vinyl and getting it signed by all of them. It was fucking mind blowing to me.
So then after that, I put the vinyl back in a secure place and I'm walking down the steps and it's crowded. And fucking, I see J.R. Writer and shit, and I didn't let J.R. Writer sign it because he wasn't on "Diplomatic Immunity" one and shit. But I did fucking spit the freestyle, you know, the "It's J.R. Writer. Yes, the one girls love to dig. A pimp with the cane, don't get your girl dugged and digged." That shit's one of my favorite freestyles, you know, coming up in high school.
But yeah, then after that I just went home, bro. I went home and I took a picture of vinyl, showed it to my boy, told him that I got it signed by all of them. And he was just like, "I knew you could do it," you know what I mean? So that was pretty dope.
